What is the best material for glasses and mugs?
If you want to get the most out of your hot drinks, it's important to consider the type of cup or mugs you buy. How well the mugs retain heat, their elegance and style are decisive factors in making the right decision.
Ceramic Cups and Mugs
Whether they are made of classic porcelain, stoneware, or any other type of ceramic, ceramic cups and mugs are good at retaining heat. This makes them ideal for hot drinks such as coffee and tea, and the large number of designs to choose from cannot be considered a disadvantage.
What is the perfect size for mugs and glasses?
Differences in cup and mug sizes may be purely for aesthetic reasons and are largely dependent on the style of the collection or set to which the mug or mug belongs. But since different types of cups are made in different ways, it can also be due to the purpose of the cup. Finding the right size mug is a matter of personal preference, but what the mug will be used for should always be considered.
Types of cups and mugs:
Tea cup;
Traditionally, teacups are wider at the top and taper down. This allows the boiling tea water to cool faster to drinking temperatures.
coffee cups;
Coffee cups are generally both narrower and flatter than tea cups. This design ensures that the coffee stays hot for as long as possible.
Espresso glasses;
Espresso mugs are small. Because espresso is a very concentrated brew, it should be drunk in smaller portions than regular coffee.
Cafe latte mugs;
Cafe latte mugs are usually long and handleless. A latte is not as concentrated as espresso and therefore can be drunk in larger portions.
Cappuccino glasses;
Compared to latte mugs, cappuccino cups are short and have a fairly wide rim. This makes it easy to pour steamed milk and create so-called latte art.
How to remove tea and coffee stains from glasses and mugs:
1. Put cold water in the glass and then pour it to wet the inner walls of your glass.
2. While the glass is still wet, pour about half a deciliter of baking soda into your glass.
3. Spread the baking soda on the walls of the glass by rotating it while holding the bowl to the sides.
4. Let stand for about 30 minutes when the inner wall of the glass is covered.
5. Scrub the inside of the glass with a sponge or cloth before wiping off the baking soda.
6. Rinse the cup and the tea stains should be gone!
